GUIDE · FIRST LIBRARY

Get your first library
together.

A written walkthrough of the first steps in Songroost: songs in, a chart on each, one practice logged and a first setlist.

Before you start

Songroost is for your own songs: your charts, recordings, notes and links. It doesn't come with a song catalog or lessons. The goal here is a first small library you can practice from. Start with the songs you actually play. You don't need to enter everything today.

1. Add your songs

On an empty library, the Catalog tab shows a box titled “Let's add your songs”. Pick whichever way suits you:

The beta is free for up to 50 songs: room for your whole repertoire, or a couple of full sets.

2. Give a song a chart

Open a song and add a chart. Paste lyrics or a chord chart (chords on their own line above the lyrics) or ChordPro, or upload a PDF. You can also add a chart from a web page with + From web…, and attach files with + File…. + Add link keeps a lesson or backing-track link with the song.

3. Practice one song

Open the Practice tab and work through the short list. When you've played a song, tap ✓ Played on it to log it.

4. Make your first setlist

On the Playlists tab, tap + List and choose Setlist, then add songs from your library. Or choose ✨ Describe a set and say what you want (“acoustic busking set, 90s crowd-pleasers”): it proposes a setlist, new songs included, and nothing is added until you approve it. The checklist on the Catalog and Playlists tabs ticks off its steps as you do them: songs, a chart, a practice, a setlist. You can hide it any time. Next: prepare that set for rehearsal.

Keeping your library

You can download everything from Settings → Back up everything at any time.
